Rugby Club Days

OUR RUGBY CLUB DAYS:  We have held very successful education days at a number of Rugby Clubs in the Waikato area.

We have a variety of speakers including Phillip Barlow (soil scientist from Uni of Wales); Mark Shaw, Anchor Jerseys: Frano Botica (ex-All Black). We also put on morning tea and lunch and donate rugby balls signed by Frano for the Junior Grades to each club. Farmers and their wives have really enjoyed these days. Some comments include:

  • “Great day - I learnt so much about sustainable strategies”
  • “I didn’t feel pressured to buy anything - really enjoyable & informative day”
  • “I don’t hold much with science but Phillip I could understand”
  • “The seniors will be p---ed off when they come to training tonight and hear about what they have missed out on today”
  • On the rugby balls signed by Frano - “The Juniors are not having these!”
  • “It was good to listen to Mark Shaw – I was interested in his pasture root length increase and the worms returning”
  • “I have been trying to get my husband to consider more sustainable farming practices – look at him over there with Mark!”
  • “Mark was just real – talked with him over lunch as well”
  • Frano’s experiences were fantastic to hear - and it was neat he stayed for lunch to meet with us all and just talk”
  • “No off the wall stuff – just good information no pressure and FREE”

SUSTAINABLE FARMING DAY IN YOUR AREA?

If you are a member of a rugby club in a high dairy area and would like us to hold a Sustainable Farming session – you are welcome to ring Keith 0800 SEAWEED. From September we will be holding one a week in the Waikato region and you are most welcome to come along. You are also welcome to bring a farmer who may benefit from our liquid seaweed concentrates.
